A Matter of Concentration

To quote Leonardo da Vinci, "Smallness concentrates the mind." Our ability to concentrate seems to be disappearing from our lives. Facebook Reels, Instagram and You Tube shorten our attention span to 30 second Dopamine hits that keep us going back again and again. It is addictive and it doesn't benefit our bodies or minds. Miniatures allow us to freeze a moment, concentrate our endeavors and invoke a feeling of satisfaction that is more fulfilling than those quick and dirty online hits. I enjoy envisioning, creating and completing a project. I enjoy the camaraderie of other creators and the delayed gratification of a finished project. This week take a minute, make a cup of tea, take a deep breath and make something.
